What has been tested and what is still open
An accessibility statement is worth only as much as the testing behind it. So the key figures come first, and below them, in the text, the points we are not yet satisfied with ourselves.

On the principle
Usable is more than compliant
A site can pass every checklist and still be exhausting. So there is a second measure alongside the standard: can this site be used with enlarged text, without a mouse and without motion, and still miss nothing. Where the answer is no, it says so in the text.

Set the page to suit you. Everything here is saved in this browser and applies to every page of the site.
What we are aiming for
A festival that invites everyone needs a website everyone can use. We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA and to the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act.
State of compliance
This website is largely compliant with the requirements named above. “Largely” means: the load-bearing functions meet the criteria, while individual areas are still being reworked. The points listed below are known to us and are on the plan.
What is already in place
- A settings panel on every page: reduced motion, text size, spacing, contrast, calmer colours, a permanent focus ring, the system cursor, a reading ruler and a permanent mute — saved in the browser, no cookie, no account.
- The entire site can be operated with the keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring on every control.
- A skip link at the start of each page leads straight to the content.
- Headings, landmarks and form labels are marked up semantically and work with screen readers.
- Colour contrast for body text and controls reaches at least a ratio of 4.5 : 1.
- Anyone who has set “reduce motion” in their operating system gets the site without parallax, without marquees and without automatic transitions.
- Every image carrying information has alternative text; purely decorative graphics are marked as such and are skipped.
- Videos run muted, looped and without sound; nothing starts playing audio on its own.
- The application form reports errors in plain language, ties them to the field concerned and passes them to assistive technology.
Known limitations
- The animated globe and the recap gallery are purely illustrative. Their content is also available as text, but the display itself is not operable.
- Some archive images from earlier editions do not yet have descriptive alternative text. We are adding these as we go.
- The partner portal at crm.coffeefestival.eu is a separate service and is not covered by this statement.

Enforcement procedure
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can turn to the conciliation body under the German Disability Equality Act. It mediates between you and us free of charge.
How this statement was prepared
This statement is based on a self-assessment: manual keyboard testing, screen reader review, automated contrast and structure checks, and testing at 200 per cent zoom and in reduced motion.
